Free Therapy for Survivors

We are pausing contributions at this moment while we put efforts towards utilizing the funds for the Uvalde community.

Austin Teen Therapy clinicians are committing to on-going Free Therapy for Survivors, specifically those impacted by mass shootings. We are reaching out to our community to join us in taking care of the rest of us.

We have initiated this campaign to fund therapy for survivors and will be offering this first to the Uvalde, Texas community in the wake of this devastation.

ATT has clinicians available who are Spanish speaking as well as clinicians trained in EMDR and other trauma modalities and grief. Through this funding we will be able to match folks needing support with clinicians of their choosing by eliminating the potential financial barrier.

Please consider supporting a survivors healing.

Disclaimers:

  • Each donation will, in it’s entirety, be collected to pay for on-going 50 minute sessions at clinicians full rate ensuring this is sustainable for both client and clinician

  • Donor participation will not compromise the privacy of any clients benefitting from this campaign

  • Once we have donations rolling in we will release openings to the Uvalde, Texas community members

Additional info:

  • One month of therapy (50 minute sessions once a week) cost approximately $600

  • Therapy will be done virtually

In transparency, we are working fast and will be improving as we go, thank you for your participation and patience.

  • We do not have a 501c3 designation so you will not receive a receipt as such. If you would like to contribute to a nonprofit whose mission is to connect minoritized folks with services we highly recommend Mental Health Liberation

  • Donations will keep this alive. Please consider donating if that is within your means and please continue amplifying and sharing with your communities!

  • Funds being collected will tracked by our team and disbursed as payment to therapists when services are rendered. We are working on a public facing way to share this information with you all to ensure transparency and promote good faith.

  • Folks will go to the Help pages to fill out the simple intake form and Sammi, our client care coordinator, will reach out to them to match them with a therapist that may be the best fit for their needs. From there, their services are virtual and free.

  • We know trauma work is a long process. Therefore, we are focusing our efforts on maximum impact. At the present we have enough funding to offer on-going therapy for a few people. IF funding were to run out we would not terminate services.

  • We are using the term “survivors” and intending for it’s definition to be broad. In this case we are meaning, anyone impacted.

Austin Teen Therapy is best suited to work with pre-teens, teens, and adults. Our partners Moving Parts Psychotherapy are able to help support littles as well.

The community behind Free Therapy for Survivors

a note from Austin Teen Therapy owner:

This is for community. Having grown up in Utopia I spent a lot of time in Uvalde: drinking shakes at the Rexall counter in the summers, participating in the stockshow, and getting countless chorizo breakfast tacos from that little drive thru window. I was taught that we take care of each other and that is what this offering is.

Our hearts are with you all,

Lindsay Camp
